Join us for a a motivating and interesting evening as we get to understand more about using social capital and networking to further your career and business.  We're delighted that Synden Grieve, Program Manager in the Operational Excellence team at Expedia Group will be joining us to share her insights, and will present her MBA research on how female entrepreneurs in Scotland’s technology industry use social capital to benefit their businesses.

Synden will discuss how women build their networks and use social capital for success in male-dominated industries, including how social capital interacts with networking by impacting the way people work together, create trust, reciprocity, and cooperative environments. She will discuss common challenges faced by women and will go on to discuss the power of networks, how connectors and champions can help you, and the benefits of trust, reciprocity, and credibility for your career and/or business.

Following the presentation, Synden will be joined by Julie Grieve, Founder of hospitality technology company Criton.  A Q+A will then be chaired by Lesley Judge, Project Manager at Travel Tech for Scotland.

The event is very kindly being supported by HIckory, and Managing Director Stephanie Stubbs will update us all on the recent growth of the business and their future plans.  You'll have the opportunity to hear from Managing Director Stephanie Stubbs on the company's recent growth, while enjoying delicious, and locally sourced, canapes along with a glass or two of fizz!
